The HL headquarters!! The building itself is a heritage of the city. Quite beautiful
Your manila office Ben Line a disaster. My container sent prepaid to SAVA Georgia is being held up because they did B/L as collect. They admit it was prepaid but are dragging there feet so I get demmurrage charges so they can even make more. They want my broker in U.S. to send original B/L then they will telex release the shipment from manila office. Its crazy in that they already know the problem. This same container they gave us authority to withdraw container to load then we loaded it and they informed us oops ship was not open. Trucker had to leave full container at our dock then pick it up two days later thus incurring us double trucking. Ben Line did not offer us a refund even thou they messed up. Ben Line Manila a disaster area. Each person passes the buck down the line. Can you imagine we are trying to get container & load waiting on them and another person in Ben Line is writing nasty e mails-You know if you cancel theres a charge. Told them who is Cancelling we are waiting on them to get us a container. Seems Hamburg headquarters has there head in the sand. I see other comments about other offices maybe its the way they operate.
One of my clients recently shipped goods from South Africa to the USA. Hapag-Lloyd in Cape Town shipped the goods without being paid by the third party then forced my client to pay a second time to them directly, basically holding the export documents as a threat if the account was not paid. Hapag-Lloyd incurred the financial risk by giving credit to a third party and then simply passed on the risk when they were not paid.
This is a very disappointing experience from a business that is well respected and yet another case of a big business forcing small business to pay for their poor management.
Horrible customer service After three months of delay, they never know any information about your containers ETA. I'm not going to book another container with these guys; I'd rather pay twice as much for transportation than use them again!
Hapag-Lloyd is one of best shipping companies in the world. Located in a historic building that is 120 yrs old. This is a fine company.
The building is beautiful and well lit, making it a spectacular view from accross the lake.
